Vernon, whose corporation was the first company founded by a woman to be traded on the American Stock Exchange, died Monday in Manhattan, New York. No cause of death was announced.

Tibor Rubin (1929 - 2015), Holocaust survivor and decorated U.S. soldier

Tibor Rubin, a Holocaust survivor who went on to become a highly decorated U.S. infantry soldier decades after the Korean War, has died in California, according to multiple news sources. Rubin, who was born in Hungary, died Saturday of natural causes in Garden Grove, California, his nephew, Robert Huntly, told the Los Angeles Times. He was 86.

Sandy Berger (1945 - 2015), former U.S. national security adviser

Former U.S. national security adviser Sandy Berger, who helped craft President Bill Clinton's second-term foreign policy and later got into trouble over the mishandling of classified documents, died Wednesday, according to The Associated Press. Berger was 70 and in ill health. The announcement about the death came from a spokesman for Berger's consulting firm, the AP said.

Charles Herbert, a former child actor whose credits included dozens of movies and television shows, died Oct. 31 of a heart attack. He was 66. The death was announced by actor Paul Petersen, who acted with Herbert in the 1958 movie "Houseboat" that starred Cary Grant and Sophia Loren.

Dick Maugg (1931–2015), Bartles & Jaymes commercial actor

Dick Maugg, known for his role in 1980s advertisements for Bartles & Jaymes brand wine coolers, has died, according to The Associated Press. He was 83. His wife, Barbara Maugg, tells the Santa Rosa Press Democrat that he died of cancer July 28. A formal announcement of his death was delayed by a cancer recurrence in the couple's daughter, Karen Coset, also of Santa Rosa, around the same time. She died Oct. 4. Maugg was known best for his role as silent sidekick Ed Jaymes to Frank Bartles in a series of industry-acclaimed advertisements known for their homey style.
