Eleen T. Martin

Eleen T. Martin of Etna passed away in the early hours of April 15, 2025, at Cayuga Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Sayre, PA on May 17, 1929, to Ernest E. and Lillian Thompson, she spent the majority of her youth living on the Coddington Road in Brooktondale. Mrs. Martin graduated from Ithaca High School, Class of 1944 and was employed for her entire working career as a telephone operator for New York Telephone Company and later AT&T in Ithaca, Cortland and finally Syracuse. Mrs. Martin retired in 1985 and did a great deal of traveling, visiting five continents and staying in several countries for extended periods. She was also an avid camper driving her rig to numerous rallies and events all over the United States. Mrs. Martin was predeceased by her husband, Delbert B. Martin, Jr. and her son Delbert B. Martin, III; her siblings Lillian Barbe (William), Ernest E., Jr. (June), Thomas C. (Fern), infant brother James, Jane Adams (Edward) and William J. She is survived by her daughters Rose Ann Hardy (late Reg) of Radlett, Hertfordshire, UK and Rena E. Buehler (Paul) of Delmar, NY. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at the Herson-Wagner Funeral Home on May 2nd at 11:30AM with burial to follow at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden.
