Lora Walker Obituary

Lora Pearl Walker, 91, of Asheville, NC, passed away on March 11, 2025 at Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation and Care Center. Born September 11, 1933, in Burnsville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Austin and Nancy Jones. Lora enjoyed practicing karate and earned a black belt. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, Warren Walker; son, Warren Junior Walker; and siblings, Pauline Lail, Fouts Jones, and Paul Jones. Surviving are her children, James Coleman Smith and Nancy Ann Smith both of Homosassa, FL, and Joel Walker of Asheville, NC; sister, Clara Johnson of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Christopher W. McPeters, Amanda Nicole Smith, Timothy Houston Smith, and Tara Lynn Smith; seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Gospel Tabernacle Church, 16 Brickyard Road, Asheville, NC 28806 with Rev. Jerry Hensley officiating.
