The Life of Jesse Alvarez It is with great sadness that the family of Jesse Alvarez announces his passing Monday April 21, 2025, at the age of 82. A cherished soul whose earthy journey left behind a legacy of devotion, warmth and love. He was a devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather. Who touched the lives of all those fortunate enough to have known him. Jesse Alvarez born on February 7, 1943 in Tempe AZ was raised in a small town just outside of Tempe and Phoenix AZ called Guadalupe. This is where he lived with his mother and would later meet the love of his life and start his family. His mother was a hard-working mother, who worked on farmlands and occasionally Jesse would live with her on various work sites throughout southern Arizona. His mother set the foundation for the devotion and love he had for his family. As he grew older Jesse was a proud member of the Guadalupe and indigenous community the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and participated in our culture traditions. On the weekends Jesse enjoyed simple things, such as spending time with family, friends, cleaning up his car making sure the rims were shiny. Simply embracing life and all that it had to offer. He had an amazing ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. This is when he met a beautiful young lady named Felipa Ochoa. They met and fell in love. They were married in 1961 and started their family. They had four children together, Julie, Jesse, Patrico and Phillip Alvarez. Jesse would build their first home in Guadalupe in the Cuarenta the heart of the town, the place he called home until he moved his family into their new home in Tempe right outside of Scottsdale. Where he passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on Monday April 21, 2025. He was a kind and brave soul who inspired and encouraged everyone he met. His love was like a beacon navigating us through the darkest passages in life. Jesse is forever loved and missed. Heavenly father, we thank you for the gift of Jesse Alvarez's life our beloved husband, father, friend, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. We cherish the memories; the love and the wisdom he shared with us. Grant him eternal rest and peace. We pray for comfort and strength for all those who are grieving his loss, and that we may find solace in your presence and the promise of eternal life. May his soul find peace and joy in your loving arms. In your name pray. Amen Jesse is survived by his wife Felipa Alvarez, his children Julie, Patricio, Phillip, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and all others whose lives Jesse touched. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 9, 2025 at 6pm in Guadalupe followed by a mass on Saturday May 10, 2025 at 7 am. He will be having an overnight traditional blessing.
