John Preece Obituary

John "Johnny" C. Preece III, age 56, passed from this world into eternity with the Lord on February 21, 2025, at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona. Johnny is survived by his parents, John (Terry) Preece and Cinde (Tom) Biasella; his grandmother, Agnes Jean Chilcote; his siblings, Vickie Preece Ungashick and Justin Preece; his niece, Victoria "Tori" Ungashick; his girlfriend, Suzanne Davis; his Boxer pup, Dozer; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and friends who became family. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Dorothy Chrisman and Lenny Harbage; his grandfather, Paul Chilcote; and other beloved family members and friends. Born and raised in Hilliard, Ohio, Johnny served honorably in the United States Air Force and later graduated from Arizona State University. His aviation career and adventurous spirit lead him to live throughout the United States, as well as Vietnam. His passion for flying led him to a fulfilling career as a Captain for Frontier Airlines, where he found immense joy in his work. Outside of aviation, Johnny had a deep love for motorcycles and dirt bikes. Whether riding his Harley or navigating the trails on one of his dirt bikes, he embraced the thrill of the open road and the challenge of competition. During his battle with cancer over the past three plus years, Johnny dedicated much of his time to researching natural healing and sharing his insights with others. He achieved many successes in his own journey and helped many others in their battles with cancer. The Protocel Cancer Support Group, which Johnny founded on Facebook, will carry on his legacy through its team of dedicated "admins," who will continue supporting, educating, and ensuring that no one fights alone. Johnny's Christian faith became an essential part of his life. He served in ministry at Impact Church and cherished his involvement in Men's Bible Study. Johnny developed the habit of reading his Bible and kneeling at his bedside to pray every night. While he never gave up hope that God would heal him, he ultimately accepted that his healing may not come in this temporary world. Although his family and friends are heartbroken and will miss him dearly, Johnny is now "home" with his Savior, Jesus Christ, healed and whole again in Heaven! Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." - John 11:25-26 A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with a reception to follow at Impact Church, 13802 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Impact Church (North Scottsdale) or to Adopt a Dog or Cat, HALO Animal Rescue (Phoenix, AZ) in Johnny's name. A gathering will also be held in Ohio at a later date, with details to follow.
