Charles Brown Obituary

Charles T. Brown

Charles T. Brown, Natural Therapeutics Practitioner, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 30, 2021. He was born Dec. 7, 1937 and raised in Bardstown, KY, the eldest of four children. After high school, he attended one year of college before enlisting in the Air Force and serving for ten years. His last assignment was in Albuquerque, where he chose to stay, raise a family, and study massage therapy at the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics. In 1977 he became Co-Director and lead instructor at the School. For 20 years he refined and developed his skills in the healing arts and trained more than a thousand students from all over the world. Charles was known for the kindness and wisdom he generously shared for the benefit of our community. He taught his students to "use the pure love energy flowing through your hands to dissolve the physical disharmony which is unconsciously created in the body, mind, and Spirit."

After retiring from NMSNT, Charles maintained a private practice in bodywork for another 22 years. Pursuing spirituality was his other passion in life. For many years he taught Ho'Oponopono, a Hawaiian method for cleansing, releasing and forgiving. More recently, he was dedicated to the "I AM" movement, which focuses foremost on the Divine presence of God in our lives.

Charles is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judith; his four sons, Philip Brown of Lake Lanier, GA; Scott Brown and wife Kim of Albuquerque; Troy Lepisto and wife Kristin of Santa Fe; Todd Lepisto and wife Louisa of Rio Rancho; his grandson Quintin Lepisto of Rio Rancho; his sister Martha Vissman of Denver; and brother Jim Brown of Bardstown, KY.

Charles's life-long dedication to spirituality and the healing arts exemplifies the aphorism that "A teacher affects Eternity; he never knows where his influence stops."

Charles was a living example of an angel on earth. He knew how to stabilize himself, to then give so much to others. I took my first Ho'Oponopono course with him when I was 15. I have been learning from him ever since. He was such a gift to so many! My heart is so full of what he taught me! He always knew how to help me get back on the path, when life can take you through such winding roads physically and mentally. I truly am so very grateful and lucky to have known such an angel! Sending so much love to his loved ones!

As you passed from this life I am certain that all the Saints came to meet you as the Archangels and Angels looked on and sang in their most beautiful voices as you were led to the Mighty I AM creator where you will behold the face of the redeemer for eternity. You are now one with the most loving light that you always strived to share with everyone you came into contact with. Your treatments, caring and teaching have enhanced my life immeasurably. Thank you Charles for always being there for me. Blessings forever. Until we meet again. Juan

I knew Charles through his wife, Judith, a friend from Sandia High School days in Albuquerque. His manner and his presence was like a mini-healing to all who knew him, and I was fortunate enough to get treated by him when I visited family in Albuquerque. I know he will be greatly missed. Godspeed, dear Charles, and God bless Judith and all your family and friends.
