Elaine Timms Schwers, was born on January 12, 1934 Albuquerque, NM to Pauline and Norman Timms.

Elaine was called to the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2016.

She was the loving wife of Russell Schwers of Rio Rancho and mother to three wonderful hard working sons, Earl his wife Liz, and Mark and wife, Sandy and Norman and wife, Laurie. All of Elaine's boys say she was a "Great Mom". She was grandmother to Kristina Metge husband, Charles Metge and grandson Clayton Schwers; great-grandmother to Sailor, Charlie and Paisley Metge; grandmother to Mark's two sons, Scott and David in MS.

She was preceded in death by her three siblings; Norma Knight, Ellen Margaret and Kim Timms; surviving is sister, Claudia Fields.

Elaine was a parishioner at Church of the Incarnation in Rio Rancho. She was a member of Defined Fitness in Rio Rancho and thoroughly enjoyed the water aerobics class with her pool buddies. She was also a member of the Royal Rowdies Red Hats and enjoyed lunch and playing cards with Russell and his coworkers. Elaine dabbled in painting; several pieces hang in the home. Her favorite hobby was quilting. She made many beautiful quilts for family members. Elaine graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1951 and UNM in 1984 along with her son Norman. She was an elementary school librarian at several Albuquerque Public Schools.

Elaine enjoyed going on several pilgrimages with Monsignor Douglas Raun of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho and attended mass at several Catholic Church in Europe and United States.

Elaine first met Russell in August, 1953 at Hinkles Department store in Albuquerque where she was the switchboard operator. They eloped to Bernalillo, NM and later married at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Albuquerque.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Rd NW Rio Rancho, NM.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Watermelon Mountain Ranch, 1512 Deborah Rd. SE Suite 203 Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
