Peter Arndt Obituary

Peter Arndt

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Peter Arndt announces his unexpected passing on an Alaskan cruise, May 29, 2024.

Peter was born April 17, 1952, in Sydney, Australia. He came to Albuquerque in 1972 on a tennis scholarship to UNM. After graduating, he began his career in the insurance business, which he continued successfully until his retirement.

He loved attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He enjoyed playing tennis, ping pong, and later in life, pickleball. His passion was learning, teaching, and growing in the understanding of God's Word. His church home was Desert Springs, where he loved to serve, worship, and fellowship with his church community.

Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Annette; children Philip, Lindsey, and Brian; their spouses Elizabeth, Aaron, and Katie; grandchildren Addison and Liberty Arndt, Adalynn, Layden and Kaylia Day, Brady and Taylor Arndt; his brother Chris and sister-in-law Louise Arndt and the rest of the extended Australian family.

He will be deeply missed by his extended family, countless friends, and his beloved church family.

Peter's Celebration of Life will be Monday, June 10th, 2024, at Desert Springs Church at 10:00 am.

I have just learned of Peter's passing. I knew him from tennis playing days at UNM. He played on the men's team and I was on the women's team. He was always a gentleman and showed his interest in learning new things as well as meeting new people. My own son went to uni in Sydney ..I remember Peter spoke of Manly Beach. I am sorry for his family and hope you have found peace. Jody A.

Praise God Peter knows our Lord as his Keeper!

Psalm 121
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains-
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip-
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord watches over you-
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all harm-
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
