Kyle Jude Poirier

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 at a 3:30 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Kyle Jude Poirier, age 31, who passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Yazoo City, MS. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Deacon Art Bakeler of St. Genevieve Catholic Church will officiate at the services. Kyle was a native of Breaux Bridge and a resident of Cecilia. He has been employed as a truck driver since 2010 and was most recently employed with ELS Trucking. He was a member of the APA Pool League in Breaux Bridge. An avid outdoorsman, Kyle was most passionate about duck hunting and enjoyed camping and fishing with his friends and family. Survivors include his wife of six years, Brittney Ward Poirier; one son, Donald "D.J." Joseph Poirier; two daughters, Ava Claire Poirier and Rilley Rae Poirier all of Cecilia; his mother, Donna Poirier and her husband, Eric "Rambo" Cogswell, Sr., of Henderson; his maternal grandmother, Antonia Poirier of Arnaudville; one sister, Chelsie Cogswell Calais and her husband, Kade Anthony, of Cecilia; two nephews, Kanden Jude Calais and Kysen John Calais; his mother-in-law, Caroline Ward; and his sister-in-law, Heather "Hank" Ward of Manhattan, NY. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donald "D.J." Joseph Poirier; his father-in-law, Charles "Chuck" Ward, Jr.; and his brother, Eric Cogswell, Jr. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and will continue from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia. Pallbearers will be Kade Calais, Jerome Taylor, Steve Poirier, Josiah Harrison, Mark LeBlanc, and Mark Poirier.
