Brett Andrews Obituary

Brett Anthony Andrews, a proud fourth generation Operating Engineer Local 302, left us suddenly in an airplane accident on Saturday, May 12, 2018. He was 30 years old, born in Springville, N.Y., and lived in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Valdez, Alaska. He graduated from Dimond High School and Operating Engineers Registered Apprenticeship.
He is survived by his mother, Kathie Andrews from Anchorage; father, Gerald and stepmother Kathlynn, also from Anchorage; he had one brother and sister-in-law, Benjermin and Elizabeth Andrews and their children, Elsie, Adalyn and Bennett from Anchorage; stepbrother and sister-in-law, Jason and Brenna Frost and family; and stepsister, Kelly Frost and family. He is survived by his girlfriend, Katie Wilkerson. His grandparents are Betty Bybee, Wayne and Linda Ingram, Don and Michelle Jaco and John Andrews. Brett is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brett was an avid adventurer and traveler. His interests included rock climbing, hunting, camping and, most importantly, flying. His warm heart was felt by all. Although Brett had many companions ready to take on his next big adventure, he really began to live after meeting his Love, Katie. He was a competent and certified crane operator and worked throughout the state of Alaska. Undoubtedly, his first best friend was his brother Ben and he was a proud uncle and role model to his nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, 8110 Jewel Lake Road in Anchorage, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018. A celebration of life/reception will follow, from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m., at the Local 302 Operating Engineers Union Hall, 4001 Denali Street in Anchorage.

As I remember you in some small way every single day for the past year, I think: how is this possible? It has already been 365 days of sadness for this family. Yet it has brought us closer in our grief, and I believe that gives us some comfort. Brett, we all love you so much and miss you beyond any words can express, but we will honor your memory forever. I love you, Aunt Di
