Clement Zidick

Clement Zidick, 79, of Wabeno, Wis., formerly of Wasilla, Anchorage and Fairbanks, died July 20, 2009 at Langlade Memorial Hospital, Antigo, Wis., with his family by his side. Clement was born Sept. 13, 1929 in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late William and Mary (Soloninka) Zidick. On May 29, 1959 in Crandon, Wis., he married Evelyn Aderholdt. Clement attended the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, where he received his bachelor's degree. He also attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he received his master's degree. He was employed at Wabeno High School and Kenai High School as a science teacher. He was also a chemistry instructor at the University of Alaska, Mat-Su Community College, Anchorage Community College, Luther College and the University of Pennsylvania. He was involved in the American Chemical Society, the National Science Teachers Association, the American Legion and the IAC. Clement was an avid fisherman and woodworker. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Patrick. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughter, Joanna (Larry) McClarey, of Mexico, Mo.; grandchild, Patrick; sisters, Patricia Ward, MaryAnn Gasper and Eleanor Kovac, all from Akron, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Zidick; sister, Nancy (Dan) Baltic; and brother-in-laws, Don Ward, John Gasper and Dan Baltic.
