Laurel O'Brien Obituary

Laurel Lavon O'Brien passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2017, in Mesa, Ariz. Laurel courageously battled cancer for six years in advance of her sudden passing.
Laurel was born on Oct. 21, 1954, in Boise, Idaho, to Paul and Lavon Johnson. Laurel was a loving wife, mother and a dedicated servant of Jehovah God.
Laurel was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1969. She moved to Alaska, in 1974, first living in Fairbanks before moving to Anchorage. She married Patrick O'Brien on Feb. 24, 1979.
Laurel loved Alaska, enjoying hiking, camping, fishing and providing hospitality to the many eager visitors who came to stay at her home. However, her greatest joy came from serving Jehovah God. She spent many years as a full-time evangelizer, telling others about many Bible promises, including the hope that the dead will be resurrected to live on a paradise Earth. She enjoyed spending time entertaining family and friends, and was always eager to discuss spiritual topics. Her warm and sincere personality will be greatly missed by all who love her.
Laurel is survived by her husband, Pat; family; and many friends. Laurel's memorial will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2520 Wesleyan Drive in Anchorage, Alaska.

My most deepest condoleces to Pat and family. I had the priviledge of getting to know Laurel at her last congregation she was part of in Mexico, I always admired her sweet but firm personality but most of all her love she shown for Jehovah. No doubt I will miss her but not for to long because the time to see her back is near. Areli Santamaria
