Lawrence Hutton Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Edgar Hutton died peacefully at home on Dec. 11, 2016, in Anchorage, Alaska, at the age of 79.
He was born into a large family of 16 children on Aug. 20, 1937, to Harold (Hap) and Evelyn Hutton. He was raised on the family homestead near Libby, Mont., and attended Libby public schools. He served with the U.S. Air Force and resided in Anchorage after an honorable discharge in 1967. He worked in various locations all over the state of Alaska as a heavy equipment operator in the logging, mining and construction industries until 2002, when he retired. Some of his employers included the Corps of Engineers, Department of Interior, Valdez Creek Mine/Cambior Alaska, Veco Corporation, Akima/Spacemark Corporation and Central Environmental Inc.
Larry was a loving, dedicated, hardworking man who loved to garden, cook and spend time with his grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Papa." He was known for his sense of humor and constant teasing. His family dubbed him their "Superman" as he fought a hard fight against cancer and overcame many obstacles to live as long as he could to see all of them grow up.
He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Thelma Hutton; his children, Monica Ballesteroz of Libby, Mont., Jody and (Ron) Embly of Anchorage, Erica and (Sam) Srisaneha of Anchorage and Lawrence "Doogin" Hutton of Buckhannon, W.Va.; grandchildren, Lukas Ballesteroz, Tristan Ballesteroz, Taylor Ballesteroz, Soleigah Ballesteroz, Madison Fitzgerald, Remington Embly, Emerson Embly, Thavun Srisaneha, Jaden Srisaneha, Siri Srisaneha and Thane Srisaneha; great-granddaughter, Leyton Brees; brothers, Montana Hutton and Jim Hutton, both of Libby; sisters; Ardith Myhre of Libby, Betty and (Clyde) Ross of Libby, Judy and (Andre) Tulleners of Spokane, Wash., and Margie and (Jr.)Johnson of Libby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Erica Srisaneha, with services being planned in Libby, Mont., for the summer of 2017.
