Loren Douglas

1985 - 2016

Loren Ray Douglas passed away in Anchorage, Alaska, on Feb. 18, 2016. He was 30 years old. Loren was born on June 16, 1985, in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines, to Gordon and Aurora Douglas. In his early years, Loren attended Montessori school in the Philippines before moving to Anchorage, where he graduated from Service High School. He was a devoted Catholic, who could regularly be seen attending services at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton as well as Change Point church. He loved sports, including football and basketball. He also enjoyed wrestling, weight training and exercising. Loren is survived by his son, Ransom Douglas-Pe Benito; daughter, Ariyeli Merlani Fante; mother, Aurora Douglas; brothers, Alexander and Eric Douglas; and sister, Karen Douglas. There will be a public visitation on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at 2 p.m., at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel: 737 E Street, Anchorage, AK 99501. A memorial service will follow from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. Loren's ashes will be scattered in Alaska, as well as on Waikiki Beach on the coast of Hawaii.
