Matthew DeLong Obituary

Matthew "Matt" DeLong, 30, passed away on March 19, 2013, in Wasilla, Alaska.

Matt was born March 22, 1982 in Seattle, Washington to Mary Lynn Klinefelter.

Matt enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends, traveling with his wife, and hanging out with his beagle. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed traveling down to Seattle to watch the Seahawks play. He was always "livin' his life", whether it was in Hawaii, Las Vegas, Seattle or here in the AK.

Matt married Michelle DeLong, on August 11, 2007, in Anchorage, Alaska. He lived with his wife and their 3 dogs and 1 cat in Wasilla, AK.

He worked at GCI for 8 years as a Customer Service Representative. He was a dedicated and focused employee and received a VIP nomination and award in 2011 for his extraordinary performance.

Matt will be remembered for his big heart and fun personality. The world is a much quieter place without him in it.

Matt is survived by his wife, Michelle DeLong of Wasilla; his twin brother and his wife Mark and Bobbie DeLong of Colorado Springs, CO; his sister and her husband, Charlene and Sam Miles of Anchorage; niece Sarah Miles; nephews Max DeLong, and Sam, Jr., Isaac, and Aaron Miles; his Uncle and Aunt, Jack and Becky DeLong of Rio Rancho, NM; his fur-children Bianca, Darby, Sadie and Little Cat; and his best friends Chris Evans, Chris French and Jon Ehm.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lynn Klinefelter.

A private celebration of his life will be held this summer.

You were the life of the party my friend. As stated, the world really is too quiet without you. I'm glad we were friends and you met and married the coolest chick I know. You brought Michelle and I together which I will be forever grateful for. I miss you man. I look forward to celebrating your life this summer and eating a chicken wing or two in your honor.
