Robert Kramp Obituary

Robert Walter Kramp, a longtime Alaskan, died peacefully in his sleep the morning of Oct. 17, 2010, at his oldest daughter's home in Lacey, Wash., where he had spent his last year.

A small family service was held.

Bob was born March 6, 1932, in Spangler, Pa., to Lewis and Elizabeth Kramp. He served in the Korean War. After returning home he met and married Trudy and together they had seven children.

Bob came to Alaska in 1958 for the adventures and opportunities this great state had to offer. In 1965, he homesteaded seven miles back on Hiland Road. He left the homestead life in 1973 for a few more adventures and then settled in 1978 in Willow, where he had an excavating business until he retired. His other careers included carpentry and commercial fishing. Bob loved to fish and hunt, and he loved the great outdoors.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Rick Erdie; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Neal Bullock; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara "Bobby" and Darrell Black; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Arley Delaney; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Betty Kramp; son, Darryl Kramp; daughter and son-in-law, Kandy and Marty Schroeder; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ned; and sisters, Ruth, Betty, Shirley, Kaylynn and Connie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.

Arrangements are with Funeral Alternatives of Washington; visit the online guest book at FuneralAlternatives.org.

We were blessed to have skyped with our father the evening before he passed. He looked good and enjoyed talking with all of us, laughing and blowing kisses through the screen. We know he left this world feeling happy and content. LOVE YOU DADDY, YOU WILL BE MISSED. Your youngest baby girl, Kandy Jo, peanut butter jelly roll.

Sorry to hear of your loss. We remember 1947. You were one of the first families we met on moving to Alaska. Chris and Tammy are still friends. Bucky and Doris Lace
