James David Golden

James Golden, otherwise known as "Mr. Excitement", passed away peacefully at his home on April 13th with his wife, and dear friend Richard Wiggins by his side. He was 69 years young.

Born in Dawson, Georgia, he is preceded in death by his father Obie Newton Golden and his beloved mother Frances Wylene Golden, half brothers Wesley Golden, Bibb Golden, Earl Golden, and half sister Jacqueline Dacus.

He leaves behind his wife Shelly Tucker Golden, of Calhoun County, Georgia, daughters, Kayla Golden and Tessa Golden and four wonderful grandchildren, Lily Varnum, Henley Sheffield, Ace Sadler, and soon to arrive Maverick James. He is also survived by his sisters Martha Jordan of Sasser, Georgia, Beth Anthony of Ocala, Florida,

brothers Tommy Golden of Dawson, Georgia, Hardy Golden of Albany, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.

James was always the life of the party. He was always on the go and into everything, including fishing, hunting, gardening and, most importantly, hanging out with his buddies at his cook house. It was a common, if not nightly, occurrence to see several trucks at his cook house with the music blasting. He was usually the last man down out of fear he would miss something. Oh, and we can't forget laughter! One of his favorite lines was " sometimes I just tickle myself."

James thoroughly enjoyed and took much pride in managing Blackhawk Farms for Mr. Dick Whitcomb, Mrs. Joan, David and Jan Whitcomb and their extended family. He would actually beam with pride when Mrs. Joan would tell people that "James takes care of us."

A private memorial will be held on Friday, April 19 with another to be announced at a later date.
