Mr. Bobbie Lee Morgan, 81, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025. He was born on March 13, 1943, in LaGrange, Georgia, the son of the late Robert Lee Morgan Sr. and Mattie Sharpe Morgan. Bob worked as a dedicated chemical engineer at three prominent companies: Douglas & Lomason, Nova Products, and Gold Kist. His career was marked by a commitment to innovation and safety in the chemical industry, and he retired from Gold Kist after 28 years, where he made significant contributions to various projects. Outside of his professional life, Bobbie had a deep passion for outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, often taking trips with friends and family, relishing the thrill of the hunt and the beauty of nature. Additionally, he loved spending warm afternoons on the water, whether it was waterskiing across the shimmering lake or casting a line while fishing. These activities brought him immense joy and relaxation. Bobbie was also an avid reader of comics, finding amusement and entertainment in colorful stories and characters. He had a great sense of humor and was always ready to share a laugh, making him a delightful presence in any gathering. A proud American, he had a profound love for his country and its values. His family was his greatest treasure. As a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bobbie nurtured deep, loving relationships with each member of his family. He cherished family gatherings and instilled a strong sense of togetherness and values in his children and grandchildren. In his spiritual life, Bobbie was a devoted Baptist who loved God wholeheartedly. He actively participated in his faith community as a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Whitesburg, Georgia, where he formed deep connections with fellow congregants and took part in church activities. His faith was a guiding force in his life, shaping his values and outlook. In addition to his parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Joyce Hammock Morgan; son, Charles Lee Morgan; grandson, Trey Phillips; brothers, Thomas Lee Morgan, Robert Lee Morgan Jr., and Robert Frost Morgan; and sister, Jane Morgan. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Elizabeth "Beth" Yates Morgan; daughter & son-in-law, Tammy Morgan Phillips & James Michael Phillips II; step-children, Chad Barker and Amanda & Wesley Mulkey; grandchildren, Lachelle Phillips, Shawn & Denise Robinson, Tyler Phillips, Jessica & Jacob Hansford, Bella Phillips, Aspen Phares, Clay Barker, and Keenan Mulkey; and great-grandchildren, Corey Smith, Karleigh Smith, Marlow Robinson, Hunter Phillips, Wrenlee Phillips, and Paisleigh Hansford. He also leaves behind his beloved three dogs: Lola, Bella, and Ginger. A funeral service will honor and celebrate Bob's life on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM from Antioch Baptist Church, with Pastor Alvin Hunnicutt and Pastor Gary Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Doye Thomas, Jason Holt, Jeff Free, Steve Cambell, Scott Howard, Rusty Cordle, and Darrell Freeman. Members of Bobbie's Sunday School Class will be seated as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 3:00 until 6:00 PM and again at Antioch Baptist Church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
