I'm sure he's looking down at his Family and smiling at how his boys have grown and how well Ellen has raised them. Love and peace to them all. Tracy

Ed was simply the best at what he did on and off the set. There are many things that I remember but the one thing I remember he was most proud of was his sons. How he had taken pictures of them next to a football while they were babies and baths in the kitchen sink. Yes he loved his family ❤ and I know he is watching with great pride for his children and the love for his wife. Ed they and us all miss you. God keep you safe.

Words can not express the feelings of loss. Ed will always remain in my heart as a symbol of joy, love and friendship. Love to Ellen, Paul, Sam. Ed will be missed but never forgotten.

I already missed you - missed our time together in the studio all those years, but, through the power of social media, we still had the opportunity to check in on each other and "compare notes" on some of the silliest, weirdest and most confounding issues of the day. But, mostly, I enjoyed watching how you doted over your family - not something I got to view as much in the basement studio at Gramercy. Sure, you'd talk about them and beam with every story -- but to see your posts and photos and the love in all of them -- for someone to whom who brought so much joy and laughter during some "dark" days that started long before the sunrise, it was just fantastic to see how much joy you received from those dearest to you. I'm glad for the well-lived life you did have, but heartbroken for all the time that was robbed from you and from your family. I've never met Ellen, though I felt like I knew her for the sweet stories alone, but I was lucky enough to have spent a couple dozen hours with your boys when they were small - and oh, how they worshipped you and you them. I hope they carry that love with them and share it too, with you as their shining example.

Dear Ellen, Paul Sam, Mrs. Nusbaum, Richard, and Nancy,
I truly hope you will find comfort in all the goodness that Ed embodied. He was one of the most giving people I have ever known. There are so many wonderful memories from High School, the Squad, teaching First Aid together...I could go on. I am blessed and privileged to have known him, and to be able to call Ed my friend. Godspeed.

I'll always remember the boys' early Sunday morning lacrosse practices on the turf field, where we'd catch up while freezing. Ed was the best part of those practices. We'll all miss Ed's presence, his humor, and his friendship. God bless your family.

I have the fondest memories of Ed being a champion of all people! I was a student in the TV department at NYU '82-'86. He was the TA, he ran everything, he taught us everything and he laughed with us, he was a mentor, a teacher and a friend. My deepest sympathy goes to all mourning his loss.
