Eric Nusbaum, age 66, passed quietly in his sleep on December 3, 2025. He was born in Canton, Ohio to Judith and Jerome Nusbaum. Eric graduated from Lehman High School and later earned an associate degree in criminal justice from the University of Akron.

Eric had a lifelong passion for performing. As a young person, he was active in the Canton Players Guild, where he took classes and worked behind the scenes. After college, he pursued stand-up comedy and worked as a manager in comedy clubs in Buffalo and Rochester, New York. His career also included performing on cruise ships. His quick wit and humor brought joy to audiences and to all who knew him.

Eric also enjoyed cooking and was an avid viewer of gourmet cooking shows. He was an animal lover who owned and cared for dogs throughout his life. A giving person, Eric was generous with his time and experience, especially within the 12-step community, where he offered support and encouragement to others.

Eric is survived by his sister, Amy Nusbaum, cousins David (Linda) Sklar, Jeff (Dale) Sklar, Matt Cohen, Beth Cohen, Saundra (GW) and Venessa McBrearty, Robyn (Arvid), Isaac, and Aurora Nelson and other extended family members.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 1:00 PM at the Hebrew Cemetery, 2331 Central Avenue Canton, OH 44707. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Altercare in Louisville and Navarre, Ohio, for their dedication and kindness to Eric.
