Feliciano Colon Obituary
AGE: 36 • Freehold
Feliciano "Uchy" Colon, 36, of Freehold died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Freehold Township. He was born in Boston, Mass. and had resided in Freehold since 1988. He was a graduate of Freehold High School, Class of 1993.
Surviving are two sons, James Nicholas Colon and Anton Colon; his father, Feliciano Colon, of Puerto Rico; his mother, Angela DeJesus, of Freehold; three brothers, Angel F. Colon, of Jackson Township, Jose H. Colon and his wife, Lucia Moscoso, of Lakewood and Anderson Colon, of Jackson Township; a sister, Beatriz Colon and her husband Jose Gelpi, of Jackson Township; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family would be appreciated.

Whether I'm thinking of you or staring at a picture, I look into your eyes and wonder why. Then I see you smile, I'll share a memory or just talk to you. I hear your voice and laughter and just can't help it laughing with you. I see our childhood so goofy and playful, so humble, so caring and loved. I see you and feel you here with me, then my heart feels heavy and tears run down my face. Still looking into your eyes I hear you say "don't cry B" putting a smile on my face, I respond saying "I know" but just still wonder why?

Well we have lost another PR soldier, Marcial! He has alotta work to do before he can join you but I'm praying real hard for his soul! I remember all the great times we spent with him! At Anton's bday parties, Marcial would set up, cook, serve, dance & clean! He was a good friend to us, a great guy, & I'm gonna miss him dearly! When he is ready to walk beside you, PLEASE welcome him with your infectious smile, give him a big hug & tell him he is finally free to RIP!!! Much love to you always & forever!

I'm sitting here watching our son play! He is just like you! He's built like you, walks like you, talks like you, moves like you, he has your personality and sense of humor! Its crazy! Everyone tells me how lucky I am to have him and I know I am but I would rather have you both! Its just not the same and never will be! Anton talks about you as if he just saw you or just spoke to you! Sometimes in the middle of him telling me something he looks to the sky and says "Right, dad!" Although you two only had 4 years and 5 days together, you are still his father, daddy, best friend, homeboy, and superhero! He remembers everything about you which makes me very happy! As for myself, the pain is still there and will always be! I thought time was supposed to heal??? I love you and miss very much!

I'm sitting here thinking back of the last night I saw you (just 4 days before your death) at Diego's 30th birthday party...you had to be the last person I found to invite to the party, the 1st one to get there and the last 1 to leave. Although I will never fully understand why things happened, I am grateful that you were there to celebrate with us & leave us with our last memory of you smiling. Me, Anton, Tracey, Tianna, Xavier, & Janiah just returned from visiting you and Punty's graves! It is always very sad! Its been almost 8 months but your loss only gets harder, not easier! I didn't know Ouchi but,The bible says "to be out of the body is to be at home with the Lord".Truly he is in paradise where other loved one's have gone. I and others who suffered tragedies have faith that there is a world beyond this and it brings us comfort, especially knowing that there is a God who understands and feels our grief and heartache.May you find peace and comfort knowing that this life is not all there is.
