Fred Morse Obituary
AGE: 83 • Jackson Twp.
Fred Morse, age 83 of Jackson Twp., NJ, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Twp., NJ. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, and had resided in Staten Island, NY, before settling in Jackson Twp. 11 years ago. Fred was the Vice President of Local #206 in New York City, NY, for 3 years, retiring in 1991. He was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Men's Club of South Knolls in Jackson Twp., NJ. Fred proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received the Army Occupation Medal for Germany, the National Defense Service Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Eleanor Morse. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Morse; his son, Michael Morse of Jackson Twp., NJ; his daughters and sons-in-law, Doreen and Thomas Gutzler of Staten Island, NY, Theresa and James D'Albora of Staten Island, NY, and Barbara and Joseph Forlenza of Jackson Twp., NJ; and by his 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, from 7-9 PM and on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at 8:15 AM at the funeral home. His Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 AM at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Ave., Staten Island, NY.
