Glen Banse Obituary

Glen Fortune Banse

Brielle - On Sunday, March 25, 2018, Glen Fortune Banse has gone home to our Eternal Lord and will be gloriously reunited with his beautiful and devoted angel wife, Marilyn, his parents, Wesley V. & Grace F Banse, his brother, Wesley V. Banse, Jr., his grandparents, Colon & Minnie Fortune and Albert & Julia Banse, and his aunt and uncle, Robert & Christine Fortune.

Glen was born in Camden, NJ on March 9, 1948 and raised in Magnolia, NJ. He attended the Magnolia Public School and Sterling High School. At Sterling, he captained the freshmen football team and shared the Conference Championship. In 1964, he moved to Manasquan, NJ where he attended Manasquan High School. There he met the love of his life and future wife, Marilyn Edwards of Sea Girt. He was also Defensive Captain of the Conference Championship 1965-66 MHS football team.

Majoring in Art, he attended Ottawa University in Kansas, Kansas State University and The New School in NYC. In 1970, he began his life-long career as a professional Artist. He was a partner in 3 art companies that produced signed & numbered limited editions, producing his art using many different names and working with major artists from all over the world.

In 1991, Glen became TV pioneer 'Buffalo Bob' Smith's (of Howdy Doody fame) Agent and served in that capacity until 1998 when Buffalo Bob passed away. During these years, Glen, his wife Marilyn, Buffalo Bob & Howdy crisscrossed this beautiful country from coast to coast doing personal appearances and spreading joy to thousands.

Glen and Marilyn also lived in Brielle, NJ for 26 years before moving to Brick in 2005. Glen was a life-long Christian and loved Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. He was also deeply patriotic and proudly loved our Great country, The United States of America. He loved music and the Arts and loved to paint. He loved to play his trumpet. He also loved to collect and some of his collections are unparalleled. His life was truly blessed.

Glen is survived by his loving sons, Jaime Fortune Banse of Brick, NJ and Eric Glen Banse of Boulder, CO; his darling daughter, Deborah E. Banse; and his beloved granddaughter, Megan Fortune Banse, both of Brick. He is also survived by his sister, Carole Doyon and many nieces & nephews.

Glen will be interred next to his cherished wife, Marilyn at Atlantic View Cemetery in Manasquan. There will be a Graveside Service at the cemetery on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 12pm.
