James Rathburn Obituary
AGE: 67 • Atlantic Highlands
James M. Rathburn, 67, of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, died on July 18, 2016 in Long Branch. He was born in Orange, NJ and lived in Atlantic Highlands for most of his life. James worked as a printer and dark room man for many years for the Advisor Newspaper in Middletown, after which he became a self employed carpenter in the Atlantic Highlands and Middletown area. He was a member of the Highlands Rod and Gun Club, and American Legion Post 143.
Surviving are his son, James Rathburn of Atlantic Highlands; his mother Florence Rathburn of Hazlet; brother, Scott and his wife Alyce Rathburn of Leonardo; three sisters, Gail Sutton of Atlantic Highlands, Linda and her husband George Whitehead of DE, and Susan Lane of PA; and his granddaughter, Stormi Hill.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Rathburn; a daughter, Colleen Rathburn; a brother, Alan Rathburn; and his father, James A. Rathburn.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown.
