John T. Kelleher

AGE: 85 • Hazlet

John T. Kelleher, 85, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 30, 2015. John was born on Jan. 7, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY and was raised in Ireland. In 1948, he returned to Brooklyn, where he met his wife, Anastasia. On Aug. 3, 1963, John and Anastasia were married and in 1966, they settled in Hazlet. John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in France and served during the Korean Conflict. For many years, John worked as a manager for AT&T. He was currently retired.

He was predeceased by his parents, Cornelius and Elizabeth (Brennan) Kelleher. John is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 52 years, Anastasia (Plucker) Kelleher and his loving daughter, Kathleen Kelleher. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2 and from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3 at St. Benedict R.C. Church, Holmdel. Interment, Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John to Limbs for Life, would be greatly appreciated. You can donate by visiting, www.limbsforlife.org. Kathleen, this reminder of your dad’s passing arrived in my email and made me think of you. I hope you are doing well. You were a great daughter. I’m sure your presence made your dad’s passing easier for him. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years.. Time flies but doesn’t really heal the void. My mom is gone 19 years. I think of her every day .❤
