Karen Filmont Obituary
AGE: 67 • Brant Beach
Karen L. Filmont, 67, of Brant Beach, after an extended, courageous battle with cancer, Karen passed away on Saturday evening, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Arcadia Nursing Home. Born in South Orange, her parents moved to Surf City, where she met and married Ted Filmont, her husband of 47 years. After many positions in banking and real estate, she ended her work career at Coastal Consignment in Beach Haven.
Karen is survived by her loving family, husband, Ted; her son, Jim, his wife Suzanne, and their children, Benjamin and Grace of Jacksonville, Fla.; her daughter, Sharon, her husband Scott Clouther, and their children, Jordan and Cameron of Wilmington, Del.; and her sister-in-law, Marian Hasselberger of Manahawkin.
There will be no memorial service at this time, but donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to St. Francis Church in Brant Beach, to assist in repairing the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy. Funeral arrangements were handled by Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, Manahawkin. Condolences may be sent to www.shinnfuneralhome.com.
