Nicholas Amato Obituary
Lakewood - Nicholas Amato, Jr., 60, passed away June 5, 2018 at his home in Lakewood. Nick was born in Summit, raised in Madison and lived in Lakewood for the past 33 years. He is a graduate of Madison High School, Class of 1977. Nick worked as a dock builder for the NYC District Council of Carpenters Union Local 1456 for 24 years. Nick was a scout master for Troop 2 in Lakewood for many years. His true passion in life was spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all.
Mr. Amato is predeceased by his father Nicholas Amato and brother, Michael Amato.
Nicholas is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara, children, Deirdre, Nicholas, Douglas and Lauren, beloved granddaughter, Anna Lucia and aunt, Barbara Micone of Edgewater, MD.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 4-8PM at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 10AM at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Nicholas's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Barbara, I am so sorry to hear of Nick's passing. My heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with you and all the kids.
Vividly in my mind, I see the two of you sitting at that old red picnic table ( in the back yard near the pole ) and the smiles on your faces. That's how I will always remember you and Nick.
