Not only did Professor Shaak create the Rutgers Executive MBA program, but he set the "tone" for it---the "tone" that future directors like the late Prof. Giles Mellon, Prof. Don Mccabe and myself, have adopted. Phil reminded us all that the students came first, and that Compassion and Kindness and Dignity were the key driving forces of any program such as this.
Today, we stand on the shoulders of this giant, as we bring in world-class EMBA rankings. We are simply finishing work that Phil had begun.

This was the person that interviewed me and in spite of my checkered academic history told me he was convinced I could succeed and he admitted me to the program.
He was truly a visionary educator by founding the EMBA Program.
