AGE: 84 • Author, Speaker, Mother of 12
Phyllis Tomberg Giglio, 84, of North Brunswick passed away on Tuesday March 29, 2016 at home with family members at her side. Phyllis was born in New York City and lived in North Brunswick for 57 years where she and her husband Sal raised their twelve children (six sons and six daughters). She was a renowned author, speaker and Christian Counselor whose autobiography, "When You Come to the End of Your Rope, There's Hope", remains in high demand. She has also been published in "Chicken Soup for the Soul" and was known for her many letters to the editor.
As an active member of the community, Phyllis served on the North Brunswick Board of Education, the Middlesex Juvenile Conference Committee, the Zarephath Christian Church Board and recently became a member of Georges Road Baptist Church. Phyllis was in high demand as an inspirational speaker with deeply held Christian beliefs that she happily shared with everyone who wanted to hear. She was known for her hospitality, wisdom and the warm smile she offered to so many. After graduating college at age 65, she went on to become a certified counselor and ordained minister.
Phyllis was pre-deceased in 2009 by her loving husband of 62 years, Salvatore (Sal) Giglio. She is survived by three brothers and one sister; Stanley, Melvin, and David Tomberg, and Sandra Premer; her children Frances Carol Ayers, Diane D'Arcangelo, Emanuel Richard Giglio, Thomas Giglio, Peter Giglio, Rosemary Giglio Burtnick, Salvatore "Plink" Giglio Jr., Monica Giglio, Joseph "Jigs" Giglio, Raphael "Reigh" Giglio, Deborah Brijitte Dreyfus and Elena Mattey; 30 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Arrangements are by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. You may sign the "Obituary" email condolence "Guestbook" at: www.Crabiel.com. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Po River Clinic, www.poriverclinic.com Phyllis's favorite charity, which provides healthcare to one of the poorest communities in Liberia.

Family and friends may visit on: Thursday March 31st from 5:30 - 8:30PM, at Georges Rd Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 440 Church Ln, North Brunswick Township, NJ; and also; Saturday April 2nd at 11:00AM at the Zarephath Ministry Center, 2 Ministry Center Drive, Zarephath NJ
Funeral: Saturday April 2nd 12:00 noon at the Zarephath Ministry Center

I have always thought of your mom as my spiritual mentor! She played such a large part in my salvation and growth in the Lord. As a child in Highland Park, your Dad was our egg man. When our family moved to North Brunswick, my two brothers Frank & Jim, became friends with two Giglio brothers, Tommy & Peter (I think). Amazing how Phyllis and I became such wonderful sisters in Christ! I always thank God for the love and direction Phyllis gave me.

Mrs. Giglio invited me to go to a Creation Festival in 1981. It is there at this place that I got saved. She was a great inspiration to me an paved the street to my salvation. I pray the entire family is much comforted..knowing she is in heaven an we will all meet again..Peace

Oh, Raphael, I know how much you must miss your mother...as I do mine! I did not have the privilege of seeing your mom often, but when I did, she was a breath of fresh Holy Spirit air! I still have beautiful memories of my sister in Christ Phyllis. I loved her love for life itself. She taught me confidence in praying out loud and focussing on pleasing God instead of man. I was fortunate enough to be invited to her 75th birthday on the beach at ocean grove. She wanted to fly a kite. Today 3 years later I fly kites in her memory and now in the memory of my mom who went on to be with the Lord at age 83 three years ago. Your life spoke volumes and i pray that those you inspired will share that inspiration with others. Pass it on... can't wait to see you in glory Phyllis...I love you Lisa Cunningham

Thank you Phyllis Tomberg Giglio for walking so closely with the Lord that your boys drew me in deeper in In my walk over the years. Though we only saw each other in passing a few times over the years that I attended ZCC, I thank God regularly for the relationships I've had with Tom and Raphael. God Bless you for all the work you have done. I can only pray that I can accomplish even half of all that you did while you were here with us. The lives that were touched in ways that you only know now that you're with our Father in heaven. God Has truly blessed you and your family! Love you!

Praise God for this precious woman of God who inspired me to fly kites. On Phyllis' 75th birthday she invited me to her son's home for the weekend to celebrate her birthday. Phyllis wanted to fly a kite on the beach for her 75th birthday and she always bought the kite to fly. I watched her fly a kite with her son, and it was the most amazing experience in my life. To see a 75 year old woman find pleasure and peace in flying a kite was a testimony to who she was in Christ--content with little or much... She served me breakfast and catered to my needs celebrating her 75th birthday. That was 9 years ago. Her testimony of coming to Christ from a Judaic background was compelling. I know that Phyllis has touched many lives, including mine--thank you Jesus for this precious gemstone that now sits in heaven with my mother, who passed away last March at 83 years old. Dear Pastor Raphael and family,
Didn't have the privilege of knowing Phyllis personally but I share in your grief, as she's been a great woman of God and will surely be missed. Even if we know she's gone home to be with the Lord in her glorified body, free from all sickness and pain, I recognize there will still be moments of grief as you miss her physical presence. Phyllis was a gift to me and I am so grateful to have had her in my life! I truly feel like she was someone very special. I am sorry for her passing but I know where she is now., and I think she is happy to be home. When I remember her and all that she meant to me I am reminded of all the people she touched. I wish for her family to have her legacy as an honor and blessing. I am sorry and I will miss her and her smile always.

Phyllis meant so much to me. She was such a wonderful Christian mentor and helped me in my search to know and walk closer with Jesus. She was so bright and cheerful and had a wonderful sense of humor. Truly a woman of substance and much grace. I rejoice that she is now in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I hope her and my late husband, Louie Ferrari, are laughing together right now!
