Primo Nicoletti Obituary

Primo J. Nicoletti

Henderson, Nev.

Primo J. Nicoletti, known to many as Nick, died at the age of 90 on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, in Henderson, NV from causes associated with Alzheimer's disease.

He was born on March 4, 1922 in Union City. Nick graduated from Emerson High School and then went on to receive a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from NYU and a master's degree in mechanical engineering and business from Stevens Institute of Technology. He proudly served his country for over 4 years in World War II, first as a corporal in the Air Force. He then accepted a commission from the Army and at the rank of captain, was stationed both domestically and in the Pacific Rim.

Nick worked as an engineer at both Republic Aviation and Wright Aeronautical, but the majority of his professional career was spent at the Resistoflex Corporation where he worked for more than 30 years, retiring as a Vice President overseeing the engineering division.

In 1954, he married Ada Garbaccio, and they enjoyed over 54 years of marriage until her death in 2008. They lived in Englewood Cliffs until his retirement in 1989, then moved to the Greenbriar Woodlands community in Toms River. Nick was active in both communities. He was a member of UNITI in Englewood Cliffs, and served on many organizations within Greenbriar. He relocated to Henderson, NV in 2010. He is survived by his son, David, also of Henderson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nick will be best remembered for his consistently happy demeanor and his devotion to his wife, son, relatives, and many friends. He was always a gentleman and admired as a leader. The world was a better place before his passing.

A private service was held at the Boulder City Veterans Cemetery in Nevada, accompanied by a U.S. Army Honor Guard ceremony. His ashes were interred in the columbarium. Those wishing to honor his life with a donation may do so at www.alz.org to help cure and prevent Alzheimer's.
