Robert "Bob" James O'Neill

AGE: 60 • Finderne

Robert (Bob) James O'Neill of Finderne, NJ, died peacefully from a long illness on February 5th, 2017. Robert was born September 10, 1957 in Somerville, NJ. He graduated from Bridgewater-Raritan High School East in 1976 and enlisted with the United States Navy. He served from 1977 - 1992 on the naval carriers USS Saratoga, USS Forrestal, and the USS Kitty Hawk. He was attached to the USS Suribachi during the Desert Storm campaign. Bob also was a carpenter and worked for many years in home and office construction. Whether climbing the pyramids, kayaking in Hawaii, skateboarding in Ireland, or being with friends and family, Bob lived life to the fullest.

Bob is predeceased in death by his parents, Peter J. O'Neill, Elizabeth I. O'Neill, and his sister, Sally J. O'Neill. He is survived by three children, Joseph Peter O'Neill, Jessica Rae Sarnes, Kyle James O'Neill, and three grandchildren, Meredith O'Neill, Kyler Sarnes, and Kaiden Sarnes. Bob also is survived by Cynthia O'Neill and Rhonda Daum. He is survived by siblings Daniel O'Neill, Dennis O'Neill, Gary O'Neill, David O'Neill, Nora Cole, and by in-laws Glen Cole, Amy O'Neill, Linda O'Neill, Diana O'Neill, and Mandy O'Neill. Lastly, he will be remembered fondly by his extended clan including beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob O'Neill will be laid to rest in New Jersey. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

So sorry for your loss. The O'Neill family was a part of all of our lives growing up. Now we know how much work it is to have just one or two children.
