I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my first cousin Bill Welch. Bill, Dorothy and my wife and I spend many days together discussing our family genealogy and he was a wealth of knowledge to me in that capacity. When I moved out of New Jersey in 2015 I lost contact with Bill and was just recently made aware of his passing by another member of the Welch family. Perhaps of all the stories that Bill passed on to me was the one that he seemed to enjoy the most about the mixup created on his birth certificate where his name was changed to "Walsh", I do believe I heard that story in it's complete detail at least three times...so Bill I have passed it on here so everyone else will see it in print. I will cherish the time I was privileged to share with Bill ... until we meet again God Bless you Bill.

All Maloneys were very sad to hear the news but proud and lucky to have had Mr. Walsh as part of our family since the 1930s. A good, holy and long life dedicated to family, God and Country set such a great example for so many, including our kids. It may be hard to believe, but he told us many, many, many stories about my father, mother, and grandparents that I would have never heard otherwise. He even told some of those stories more than once! Thank God he did. He was my father's earliest friend, from back when Middletown was nothing but farms and orchards. We are sad but there is a little happiness because we know he's reunited with Mrs Walsh, his parents, siblings and friends, especially the RBC 46ers. Nothing could make him happier.
