Charles Lauff Obituary

November 08, 1940 - November 29, 2020

With great sadness, we announce that our Husband, Father, Papa and Great Papa, Charles William "Bill" Lauff, 80 years young, passed from this earth on November 29th, 2020, in Marysville, California.

Bill is survived by the love of his life, wife of 62 years, Patricia "Pat" Lauff; his daughters, DarAnn Hilbers, and DarLynn Lauff from Yuba City, CA, Darnell Sines (Darryl) Princeton, CA; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Ed Silva Loma Rica, CA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bill leaves many close friends in California, Arizona and Washington.

Bill is predeceased by his parents, John E. and AnnaLee Hoggott Lauff; son, Charles William "C.W." Lauff Jr.; and brother, John Emmet Lauff, Marysville, CA.

Bill led a long life of hard work, as a young man, he was a tower man for PG&E, a driver for Boston Laundry in Marysville, CA, for 17 years. He worked for Viking Pools for 17 years, and then with the help of his wife and partner in 2007, he opened up Lauff's Pool in Yuba City, CA. Together Bill and Pat built a lifetime of memories with faithful customers that became friends. The business continues today under the watchful eye of dedicated employee Jeff Thompson.

As much as Bill worked hard, he also, played HARD!! Bill was well known for his love of cars; Bill was a builder and collector of cars and hot rods. Some of the cars he owned were an Open T, A Panel truck, and '28 Ford Sedan that he built from scratch. Very proud of his cars and hot rods, his home in Colusa is decorated with pictures and trophies that he and Pat won at area car shows.

Another love of Bill's was stock car racing, Midget Car racing, winning several championship in each car class. Cimarron Red is the color of "Rub a Tub 27" the last car that was built for Bill and Pat. Bill and Pat enjoyed their RV Motor home adventures in Arizona making many memories and friends along the way.

Bill was always optimistic, believing things could and would be done. Always willing to help anyone who needed a hand up.

Due to the COVID Pandemic. A celebration of life will be held when it is safe to do so.

Pat and her family thank you for all of your calls, texts, cards, flowers and expression of kindness shown to her and her family at this very sad time in their life.
