Frances Noyan Obituary

Our dear mother, Frances M. Noyan, of Yuba City, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the age of 88. She was born September 20, 1933.

She was more than our mom. She was our best friend and she was Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was funny, loving, always there for us and a wonderful mom. Our lives were filled with family gatherings and lots of love and laughter. She was the center of our family and the love she gave us was immeasurable.

She was a talented seamstress and gained many wonderful friends over the years through her work. She was an advocate for all animals but had a special place in her heart for her two cats, Oliver and Leo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mehmet Noyan, Sr.; and her son, Michael Lawson.

She will be missed by her daughter, Nicki DeFord and her wife, Tammy; her daughter, Angela Christensen and her husband, Craig; her stepson, Mehmet Noyan, Jr. and his wife, Cathy; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; with a special acknowledgment to granddaughter, Kelsey Myers, that shared a special bond with her Nana.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral services. She requested cremation with donations made in her memory to ResQpaws, 1282 Stabler Lane, Suite 630 #315, Yuba City, CA 95993 or Claws, Paws N' Hooves Rescue, c/o Lori Quintanar, 4733 Road P, Orland, CA 95963.

My love and prayers go out to the family of Frances Noyan as they adjust to life without this amazing woman.

Although Fran worked for me 10-12 years at my fabric shop on Plumas Street in Yuba City, I always thought of her as a friend rather than an employee. She was so talented, conscientious, smart and reliable, it was a pleasure to work with her. I will miss her.

Our Mom was an amazing person. She has so many friends and family that love her unconditionally. She loved her cats and took care of at least 4 feral cats, not just feeding them, but getting them fixed and giving them safe shelter. She was an amazing seamstress and I will be forever grateful that she taught me to sew. She had so many stories about her life in France and moving to the states and becoming a citizen almost 60 years ago. She loved this country and the freedom that it stands for. I will miss her every day for the rest of my life.
I love you mom.

Thoughts and prayers with you all. I will miss Nana, one of the toughest and at the same time most kind woman I´ve ever met. She was never my "step-grandmother" always just Nana who you could count on.
