George Cooper Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of George Cooper announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the age of 90.

George was born in Topeka, KS, on April 4, 1935, to Bonnie Dunbar and Harold Cooper.

George moved to the Yuba-Sutter area in 1957, where he met the love of this life, Marjorie.

He was a wonderful father to his children and grandchildren, lived in Live Oak, CA, for 55 years, and was an active member of the Crossroads Community Church in Yuba City, CA.

George is survived by his wife, of 67 years, Marjorie; children, Teresa (Cooper) and Rick Malone, Bob and Teresa (Miller) Cooper, Connie (Cooper) and Jeff Guess, Michael Cooper; grandchildren, Robert and Whitney Cooper, Amanda and Logan Copas, Jake and Kimberly Tate-Malone, Kaitlyn Malone, Duncan Malone, Jordan and Tressa Guess, Denver Guess, Warren and Kathryn Guess; 9 great grandchildren; his siblings, Harold and Carol Cooper, Bonita Gilbert and Dale Cooper; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Jimmy, and John; and great grandson, Stirling Zachary Copas.

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of George's life on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 11:30 AM, at Crossroads Community Church, 445 B St, Yuba City, CA, 95991. Holycross Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Joshua House Men's Center, where George volunteered for many years.
