Joseph Pomeroy Obituary


Joseph Stanley Pomeroy, of Marysville, passed on June 26, 2021, at Westview Healthcare Center in Auburn, CA.

Born in Mesa Arizona, he was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 48 years. "Stan the Man" graduated from Live Oak High School in 1958. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad as a Conductor for 25 years and Real Estate Agent for Century 21 of Yuba City for 5 years.

Surviving family includes his three sons, Kevin Pomeroy of Colorado, Eric Pomeroy of Yuba City and Joe Pomeroy Yuba City; five granddaughters, Maggie Pomeroy, Daphne Pomeroy, Chloe Pomeroy, Erica Pomeroy, and Gianna Pomeroy; surviving siblings include brothers, Michael Pomeroy of Yuba City, Delbert Pomeroy of Las Vegas, and sisters, Leslie Moody of Redding, and Patricia Durrett of Grass Valley.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Pomeroy of Marysville; sisters, Audrey Johnson of Live Oak, and Elaine Arrington of Pascoe, Washington.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City. A family viewing will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 10am, and a service will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021, at 11am at Ullrey Memorial Chapel located at: 817 Almond Street, Yuba City, CA, 95991.
