Kathy Brouette Obituary

Kathy Lynn Brouette returned to her father in heaven December 31, 2023, after a long illness.

She was born in French Camp, CA, at San Joaquin General Hospital to Richard and Kathy (Baronak) Brouette. She lived among us as an infant for 12 days before suffering a crib death and becoming cortically blind and quadriplegia.

She was baptized into the Roman Catholic Church in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of San Joaquin General Hospital that very night.

She worked hard in rehabilitation to gain strength and independence, just to lose it along with her beloved mother and unborn sister in a motor vehicle collision February 17, 1997. She showed her same persistence in overcoming much of that and lived 30 years.

She moved to the community of Yuba City, CA, joined the congregation of St. Isidore Catholic Church and celebrated her sacraments of the Eucharist and Confirmation. Kathy enjoyed the love and support of uncountable friends and family.

Kathy loved the people who surrounded her daily. She was never alone. Kathy enjoyed quality time at the movies with her dad, planted roses in her garden and walked (rolled) with her home nurse Gina to Hollyview Park for kite flying. She loved to shop with her aunts and nursing team and had a flair for fashion, especially outfits in pink and purple.

Kathy celebrated her milestones, such as birthday events with professional musicians, food trucks, circus performers and Broadway tunes. She made soup and holiday cookies with Nurse Deb and had tea with grandma and her aunts.

Kathy Lynn had a very special place in her heart for her dad. He greeted her with "Daddy's home" and read the paper to her and discussed current events.

Kathy was an advocate for others with disabilities and traveled to the California capital to advocate for funding for the disabled with family and her nursing team. Kathy lived a full life despite the hardship of incredible physical maladies and her deep faith and curiosity demonstrated by a blink for yes and a hand raise for emphasis made sure she was a part of every conversation.

Kathy is an angel who walked into the hearts of everyone who knew her. It will be a void for all of us not to have her presence on this earth, but we will all look forward to seeing her in heaven.

Kathy Lynn's family is profoundly grateful for the superb Nursing care of Ro Health and Kathy Lynn's team of physicians in Yuba City and Sacramento.

Kathy Lynn was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Richard Brouette and Emil Baronak; grandmother, Gloria Baronak; mother, Kathy Brouette; and sister, Marisa Brouette.

She is survived by her father, Richard Brouette, M.D.; grandmother, Wilhelmina Brouette; aunts, Rosanne, Marilyn, and Ruth Brouette, Lynn (Baronak) Hiller and Jolanda Jackson; uncles, Thomas Brouette M.D., David Hiller and Lawrence Jackson; cousins, Marco and Patrick Brouette, Ana Hiller White (Bob), Nicholas Hiller, and Jevon Jackson.

A viewing and Rosary will be held at the Hillcrest Plaza, 229 Clark Ave., Yuba City, CA 95991, Thursday, January 18, 2024, 5-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 19, 2024, at 10:30 AM. at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 222 Clark Ave., Yuba City, CA 95991 with a light lunch at Hillcrest Plaza, 229 Clark Ave., Yuba City, CA 95991 immediately following. Kathy Lynn,
When you entered heaven, the angels greeted you in pinks and purples and Jesus hugged you and lovingly delivered you into the arms of your mother as your sister, grandparents, great uncles and aunts gathered to hear your joyful laugh and feel your healing presence. Sing with the angels and dance among the stars. It was an honor to be your personal shopper. I love you Kathy Palooza - Aunt Marilyn

May God give all of Kathylynn´s family, friends and nurses comfort and peace as we say goodbye to our sweet girl. She will forever have a place in my heart. As one of her nurses, I was blessed by her gentle, sweet spirit that was always evident despite her physical discomfort and limitations. She taught us patience, strength, perseverance and grace. Even though I will miss her, I am grateful that she is now running, talking, singing and having a wonderful time with her loved ones in heaven! Thank you my little "Petunia," "Katharoni-Abalone" and "Silly-Willie" (the latter one always made her smile since that is her Grandmas name!!) you will be remembered forever...Nurse Deb
