Nina Armstrong Obituary
Nina Lou Armstrong, 89, of Yuba City, CA, passed away March 22, 2022. She was born on April 14, 1932, in Bonham, TX, to George and Emma Boyd.
Nina moved to California in her younger years. She was a lifelong resident of the Yuba-Sutter area and graduated from Yuba City High School.
Nina was a devoted wife and raised three children Michael, Patrick and Kellie. She participated in all of her children's activities; sports, school, church, camping and spending many summers tucked away in the depths of the high sierras with her family.
After many years as a stay at home mom, she embarked on a 20 year career working for Sutter County Social Services. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at the Rideout Memorial Hospital for 20 years. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Yuba City, where she really enjoyed being of service and had many close friends.
She lived a full life and enjoyed traveling within the USA including Hawaii where she could stay for lengthy visits with her daughter. Her favorite thing to do was to sit and watch her family be happy.
All her grandkids knew her as Grandma 49er. She had a heart of gold and welcomed all into her life. She also liked to keep a tight ship which earned her the family name of The Warden. She was very loyal and devoted to her family.
Nina was a two time cancer survivor as well. A strong woman. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her son, Patrick; daughter, Kellie (Alan); 7 grandkids; 27 great-grandkids; and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael; granddaughters, Dana and Lacy; and great-grandson, Brandon Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Yuba City, at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow at Del Wayne Estates Trailer Park Recreation Hall, 3120 Live Oak Blvd., Yuba City.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to First United Methodist Church, 3101 Colusa HWY, Yuba City, CA 95993.
