Thomas Shurtz Obituary
Thomas James Shurtz, 71, of Yuba City, CA, passed away on February 24, 2014. Born March 25, 1942 in Saline, MI. A resident of the Yuba-Sutter area for 15 years. He was a retired MSGT in the U.S.A.F., he also retired from Civil Service as a Ground Safety Manager at Beale AFB.
Thomas was a co-founder and member of the Sutter Buttes Tea Party.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Shurtz of Yuba City; daughters: Brandi Shurtz of Yuba City, April Avalos of Sacramento, Michelle Thompson of Folsom; granddaughters: Keisha Brown of Yuba City, Kayla Meyers of Folsom, Teresa Avalos of Sacramento; grandsons: Miguel Avalos of Sacramento, Trae Norton of Yuba City; great grandson Neeko Torres-Norton of Yuba City.
Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, with Military Honors provided by the Beale AFB Honor Guard. Inurnment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel.

We will miss our friend, Tom.
He was an enthusiastic patriot, never afraid to show his love for our country—and to work hard protecting our God-given liberty—whether registering voters, setting up election HQ or helping the Sutter Buttes Tea Party Patriots thrive.

Tom was one of the founders of the Sutter Buttes Tea Party and the primary mover and shaker leading to its success. Tom was a true American Patriot loved and missed by all.
