William Filter Obituary
He was born in Marysville, CA, to William A. Sr. and Maxine Filter on March 9, 1949.
He lived in Sutter County his whole life. He attended Live Oak schools and graduated from Live Oak High School in 1967.
He then attended Chico State where he graduated in 1971, with a degree in Pomology.
Bill had a passion for farming and hard work. He was also an equipment wizard. He was most proud of the track spray rig that he designed and had bulit.
He was always willing to offer his orchards for UC Davis Co-Op extension experiments or demonstrations. He couldn't have accomplished what he did without the many dedicated employees that worked for him for many years.
He also loved his time spent harvesting pecans in Arizona and Texas and the friendships he made there. We have many memories of time spent on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas.
Bill is survived by his wife, of 33 years, Jackie Filter; children William L. Filter and Julie Filter-Correll; step-sons, John Rogers and Michael Rogers; grandchildren, Sara, Hunter, and Lacie; mother, Maxine Filter; brothers, Jim, Jerry, Tim and Phillip; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held graveside at the Sutter Cemetery, Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11 am.

RIP "Big Bill" many of us would always be excited to visit with him though the years. He would always offer " a high ball or a beer" and many times we would except his offer. Also all the snowmobiling memories. He will be missed and never forgotten.
