Robert John "Bob" Wall, age 89, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Denton, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2026, at The Chapel at Griffin - Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore, OK. Services will conclude in The Chapel. Private interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, OK.
Bob was born on September 3, 1936, to David Lewis Wall, Sr. and Anna Elizabeth (Bandrowski) Wall at Oneida, NY. He attended school in Oneida until he joined the United States Army. He met Norma Jean Runnels in 1956 when she applied for a job at Fort Sill where he was posted at Lawton, OK. He saw her and demanded that they promptly hire her to work in the Artillery and Guided Missile School Command. The couple married on January 5, 1957, at Wichita Falls, TX. After Bob's honorable discharge from the Army, the couple moved to Oneida, NY.
The couple later moved to Baytown, TX, where he worked for Bacon Transport as a diesel mechanic. Bob was transferred to Ardmore, OK, in 1976. He eventually went to work for Bullard's Oil Field Services as truck driver. Later he drove for Vacco, where he retired in 1997. During his retirement, he continued to enjoy working for Mr. Bill Stevens. Bob loved anything that went fast: speed boats, waterskiing, snow mobiles, stockcars, motorcycles, and his side by side. Anytime he could, he was on his John Deere mowing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; two daughters, Rhonda Wall and Donna McCage; and brothers, Ronnie, Daniel, David, Jr., John, James, Bruce "Reggie", Roger and Richard Wall.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Barbara McGinnis and husband, Phil, of Ardmore; two grandsons, Brandon Noland and William McGinnis; brother, Fred Wall and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Canastota, NY; sister, Ruth Lane and her husband, Wayne, of Hope Mills, NC; and numerous extended family and friends.
