To Renee, your girls and their families and to Dick's sons and brothers and their families and to your extended families, I am so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. As many have stated, Dick was a great person and has always been my closest friend. You should all know, you and your families were always in his thoughts. Renee, when Dick stopped here in Des Moines to see Pam and I, he referred to your girls, as his girls, and loved you and them very much. His timing could not have been better, because my kids and their families were visiting that weekend also. Dick will be missed by our families also.
Sincerely yours, Cliff Hammers

To Renee and to Dick Mortenson extended family. Oh so thankful for have gotten the opportunity to take dance lessons from this kind man, and learning the proper dance etiquette that I will carry on during my lifetime. My heartfelt prayers go out to Dicks sweet and ever so kind Renee, whom always had the quick humor, and flirtatious grace, when the tension of lessons, needed to be broken with laughter...
I have so many fond memories of Dick and Renee teaching lessons in Luverne, MN, the Grain Bin, and Borrowed Bucks. Road House. Thank You for breaking down each step, for the patience, and for always taking the time to count....slow, slow, quick quick, to us men whom thought they could drink and learn how to dance with 6 plus beverages in is... With respect and kindness
