I was so sorry to hear that the world has lost BJ Smit. I worked with BJ at the Diabetes Research Center when I first moved to Seattle in 1986 and I have very fond memories of my time working with her. She took me under her wing and showed me the ropes. My only regret is not getting in touch with her between then and now, because now it´s too late.
