Allison Rose Obituary

Family-Placed Death Notice

ALLISON FRANCES ROSE Allison Frances Rose, age 24, of Atlanta died on August 19, 2006 from a tragic car accident outside of Memphis, Tennessee. She will be dearly missed by her parents, Karen L. Rose and Stanley H. Rose III, her dear brother and sister, Christopher R. Rose, and Whitney R. Rose, her grandparents Stanley and Katherine Rose of Vero Beach, Florida and Irene Lewchik of Berlin, Connecticut and an extensive group of loving aunts, uncles and cousins from Connecticut and Boston. She played Tophat Soccer for 10 wonderful years. She graduated from the Westminster Schools and was about to graduate from Vanderbilt University. At Westminster, she was an honor student the full seven years she attended the school, a member of the National Honor Society, editor of the Yearbook, a Community Service Prefect, a member of the Community Service Club and a strong member of the Westminster Girl's Varsity Lacrosse team. At Vanderbilt University, she majored in Human and Organizational Development and was a very active member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority where she was a rush advisor. She was active in various fund raising causes on campus to raise money for those in need. Allison cherished her many friends from Westminster and Vanderbilt. She worked hard to lift their spirits through her humor and her little acts of kindness. She could always be counted on for her infectious smile and a little bit of mischief. She loved costume parties where she constantly seemed to outdo herself with creative and fun costumes. She would find the smallest thing to celebrate and lift people up when they were down. She loved travelling and reading. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at H. M. Patterson & Son Oglethorpe Hill Chapel on Peachtree Road from 6-8pm. The funeral will be held at St. Martins in the Field Episcopal Church, Ashford Dunwoody Road in Atlanta, on Wednesday, August 23 at 10:00 am to be followed by graveside service at Arlington Cemetery on Mount Vernon Highway in Sandy Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Allison Frances Rose to the Department of Human and Organizational Development, Peabody College, c/o VU Station B-357727, Nashville TN 37235-7727, or the Emergency Assistance Fund at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church, 3110 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA. Anyone who ever knew Allison knew that there was something that was very special about her. She was filled with the light of the Holy Spirit. She had such a beautiful soul and was so full of love. Her friendly presence made any type of day an extraordinary day. I was lucky and blessed to call her my sister. ARose, I hope that I'm able to live my life with the same type of integrity that you lived yours. You touched so many lives in such a beautiful way. I will miss your ecards and of coarse 80's cds.

Love in the bond,

Bama

I am saddened by Allison's tragic passing. She was so young and full of life. Death is truly an enemy of mankind as Jesus Christ said. We have Jesus promise that death is to be brought to nothing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Karen, Sandy, Christopher and Whitney please know that you and Allison will be in our prayers. Although your grief seems all encompassing now, the wonderful memories of your time with Allison will help to lighten your hearts in time. Although Joe and I never really new Allison, I can tell from the many entries from all that she touched, she was indeed a beautiful girl. Remember she learned all that she had become through the grace of your love. Use that love to pull your family back together and eventually you will be able to celebrate what a truly wonderful woman your Allison had become. All our love and prayers, Joe, Laurie, Joel and Jennifer Rudzinski

ARose-- you were my first friend at Vanderbilt and the reason I became an Alpha Chi, because you showed me and everyone in the house what it really meant to be a sister. I don't know what to do without my grandbig, the friend in my life who provided constant smiles, and whose huge heart wanted nothing but happiness for everyone around her. So many of my favorite college memories have you there, dressed up in the most magnificent costume or curled up next to me on a couch offering advice on life and love. I thank God for every day that he gave Allison to us, what a blessing. She is so loved and missed and was a light on every person and sister who knew her. I love you grandbig.

ARose, the greatest gift you gave us was your unwavering belief in each of us as friends and in all of us Alpha Chis as sisters. You were a uniter and continue to be so even now; I think you would be so pleased by the outpouring of support and connection we are all sharing with each other because of our love for you. I've never known a heart as big as yours, and I know for sure that I will never see another e-card without hearing your laugh and seeing the twinkle in your eyes. I knew Arose as a sorority sister, and she was one of the most friendly, accepting, free-spirited people I have ever met. She had the special ability to light up any room and never failed to make us laugh with her crazy antics. Even after graduating, I used to laugh about getting an eGreeting from her for practically every holiday known to mankind.
