Though I had earlier written a message I am adding another. On Halloween Betsy and I did our own Day of the Dead alter and sadly added Amanda's novel photo to it. Remembering.

I shall miss you so much Amanda. I am trying to type this without crying, but it isn't working. I will always treasure the book I won, Don't Talk to Strangers. I enjoyed all those times you posted a video of Spike with his fangs showing. I loved your sense of humor. God bless you my dear.

Amanda's best story was her own: a true profile in courage. She fought a nasty disease tooth and nail, and did it with humor and aplomb. Beyond being an excellent writer, Amanda was just a wonderful person, who cared about the people and animals in her life, and left everyone a little bit better for having spent time with her. My prayers go out to Amanda's family and circle of friends. We will miss her terribly.

I never had the chance to hold your hand, but I enjoyed each time we spoke. As I told you many times, I always tried to look at your postings when I woke each morning so that I began each day knowing there was someone in this world who shared as wicked a sense of humor as me. You were a true inspiration. When you asked me to help your dad in North Carolina, I felt like it was a chance for me to give a token back to someone who -- from afar -- gave me so much. Rest knowing that the amazing circle of friends -- human and otherwise -- who cared for you carry your gifts forward.

I'll never forget telling my dog walker, after receiving another one of her hilarious emails, that she should become a writer, because she was so good. She humbly replied,"Type in my name on Amazon."
Such a tremendous loss for the world.

I'm very sorry it ended this way. I also had endometriosis and at 26 years of age I passed out at work from blood loss and was rushed to ER by ambulance and required a hysterectomy a.s.a.p. I'm sorry yours was cancerous. You are a great author.

What a woman! A warrior, humanitarian, animal lover and liberator. A fabulous writer with a razor sharp wit. Her FB posts made my day. Amanda fought a good fight. I shall miss her.

Palm Springs Library - Sep. 2015 LCLC Literary Conference

I met Amanda in 2015 when she was the keynote for the LCLC Literary Conference. At 3pm that day, we all hopped into cars to head to the Palm Springs Library, where the keynote would take place. The electricity went out just before Amanda's speech. It didn't phase her in the least. She grabbed her water, found her way to the podium, and knocked everyone in the audience off their emotional stools when she spoke of her childhood into adult learning disabilities and how as a result she couldn't read a book until she was 23-years-old. With her incredible determination, she championed her limitations and went on to write three incredible mystery novels in the Keye Street crime series. At the time, she was in remission, having beat back her original cancer diagnosis. Shortly after LCLC, she fell ill again and fought so hard. Amanda changed my life that day, my son's life when I recounted her keynote to him (he at a critical point in his life and Amanda's words was the impetus to find his path). RIP Amanda. You were a true leader, champion, hero, and humanitarian. In your wake and through your words, you leave greatness. In your passing, you live a world devoid of your beautiful brilliant light. You will be deeply missed. RIP.

I am so deeply saddened by the news of Amanda's passing. She was one of the nicest and funniest women I have ever known. Even though we never got the chance to meet and hangout, we became friends online. She loved the honey I would send her from North GA. Take a rest sweet one. You will be missed.

I first knew Amanda as a pet sitter, and then a novelist . What a great woman she was, with a stubbornness as an achiever, a nd second as witty writer and person ... she will be missed ... she is riding her scooter in heaven , looking down at us .
