I just opened the letter from Dr. Gunn's staff - so surprised! He was my dentist for 20 years, and my son's for all of his life. My son's name is Chandler, the same as one of his grandsons =) He was a great man, kind soul, and such a wonderful dentist. I always get nervous going to the dentist, even to have my teeth cleaned, but he always calmed me easily. I will miss him something fierce, but I know he'll take all of the love from here with him on his new journey. Sending love and peace to his family and friends.

We just learned of Dr. Gunn's passing today and both my husband and I are so very sad. He was a wonderful man and we extend deepest sympathies to the his family and staff.

I WAS 18 IN 1961 WHEN I MET DR EARL GUNN WHO WAS THE BEST DENTIST EVER AND A WONDERFUL CARING FRIEND FOR THE ENTIRE 52 YEARS THAT HE WAS MY DENTIST AND MY CHILDRENS DENTIST. ALWAYS SMILING, ALWAYS REMEMBERING MY FAMILY, EXHUSBAND AS WELL AS KIDS AND PARENTS AND SISTER. I GUESS HE WAS MY OLDEST FRIEND AND I ALWAYS ENJOYED SEEING HIM. HE GAVE EVERYONE HAPPINESS AND LAUGHTER. HE HAD A GREAT CAPACITY FOR LOVE OF FAMILY ALWAYS ( AND THE PETS) TO THE FAMILY YOU DON'T KNOW ME BUT I KNEW YOU ALL AS YOU GREW UP, AND I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.

So saddened to hear of his death. He was truly a wonderful dentist and man. Will certainly miss his smile and stories. May the Flamingo nitelight shine on.

I was 3rd generation family going to Dr. Gunn. That should say it all. My deepest to the Gunn family and to the Office Family as well. I never knew of many people who enjoyed going to the Dentist, but I did.

To the family of Dr. Earl Gunn, Our heart is broken after hearing of the death of our dear friend and Doctor. My husband and I have been seeing. Dr. Gunn for many, many years and we will certainly miss his wonderful smile and our talks about football. Our thoughts our with his family and the wonderful people that worked for him.

Dr Gunn has been my dentist my whole life and just from my few visits a year I could tell that he had a gift of brightening people's days...even in a dentist chair! My thoughts and prayers are with both his family at home and his office family.

With my father being a Georgia Tech graduate, I was always in for an ear full during football season. Dr. Gunn was a tremendous conversationalist. I was an O'Charley's when his other in law was choking. Earl jumped up and performed the Heimlich saving her life. Never to be forgotten. 3K

Paul and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Dr. Gunn's passing. He was always so kind and friendly, even to a Tennessee fan like myself. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. He will be sorely missed.

Having known my parents prior to my birth and making my first football mouthpiece for me at his then Ponce de Leon office, I forged a lifelong friendship filled with admiration and respect. Dr. Gunn was truly a man who would light up a room with his smile. I treasure many memories with him and his family over my 52 years. This world is a little dimmer without him. - Well done good and kind soldier, I look forward to seeing you again!

We remember Earl as a southern gentleman. It was a pleasure to share our faith together. Prayers of comfort go his family and friends. Psalm 23, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

I played for "Coach" Gunn my first 2 football years in 1970-71 and his passion for the game had a profound affect on my life. He was a great dentist and I always looked forward to seeing him twice a year at least and always talking football, family, and friends. In later years we had great talks as adults and I am blessed to have had him as a friend. To all of his family I am very sorry for your loss. I know the sky will always be a little more red and black now. I'll miss you "Coach" and I'll see you down the road. God Bless You.

Dr. Gunn was my friend and dentist for 41 years. And I am proud to say that I was always excited to come for my appointments. I just saw him last week and I can't believe I won't have the joy of going to the dentist and seeing my good friend, who happened to be my dentist. God bless Dr. Gunn.
