Edward Flanagan Obituary


Family-Placed Death Notice

Edward J. Flanagan, 56, of Marietta, Georgia died Sunday afternoon, September 21, 2003, with his entire family around him after a long battle with cancer. Ed was born in Akron, Ohio, graduated from the University of Akron, and lived in Marietta for the past twelve years. He had been employed by CED Solutions, which was a great source of support during his illness. Ed is survived by Karen, his wife of 30 years; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Amanda Flanagan of Dallas, GA; sons, Patrick and Brian Flanagan of Marietta, and grandson Noah. Ed also is survived by his parents, William and Kathleen Flanagan of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Steve Dingfelder of Tega Cay, SC, Kathy and Lonnie Zimmerman of Gainesville, GA, Lynn and Ron Waid, and Marybeth and Jeff Evans, all of Akron, OH; brothers, Bill Flanagan of Washington DC, John and David Flanagan, both of Akron, OH; in-laws, David and Susan Gohr of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Carl and Linda Gohr of Brunswick, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 24th at 11 A.M. the Canton Hill Chapel with Rev. Miguel A. Velez officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-9 P.M. at the funeral home. On line tributes may be posted at www.Mem.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Edward Flanagan to the Blood & Marrow Transplant Group of Georgia, 960 Johnson Ferry Road, NE, Ste. 400, Atlanta, Georgia 30342.
