Since I heard of Earl's passing, I've thought quite a bit about how much of an influence he was in my life in ways he probably never knew. As a high school kid, he let me help him coach, something I've done almost every year since, even having the blessing of making a living at it for several years. When I finished college and was thinking about law school, Earl was one of the lawyers I trusted for advice and counsel on this. When I was in law school, he shared his thoughts on practicing law and the different career paths available to lawyers. And I don't think it's a coincidence that I ended up working for myself in a small practice after starting out in another direction. My prayers and best wishes are with all the family.

A sad loss. Earl was an "across the Mississippi River" classmate and two year 1st Companymate. We shared the Mississippi Delta culture and a number of social gatherings in Indianola and Lake Village during our Academy years. His reputation as an attorney followed him even though our after-graduation visits were rare. Earl's wonderful personality will live beyond this sad departure. Tom

Earl, we were honored to have known you in our innocent youth is the small town of Indianola, Mississippi. You were truly a favorite classmate of ours and will be remembered in years that follow. We loved you and your two sisters (Alice Gray and Carolyn) and cherish the good times we all shared together. It brings back good memories. We are all proud of the young man you were then and the man you became in years thereafter. May God bring final rest and happiness to you in His Heavenly Home.
