Mrs. Burgess,
I was saddened to hear that Mr. Burgess had passed away recently. I wanted to extend condolences to you and your family. Mr. Burgess was a wonderful man to know, my children always spoke highly of him and I enjoyed seeing you both, especially around July 4th in Willow Springs.

Dear "Aunt" Helen, Beverly, Barbara and Frankie,
I am Jane's first cousin and the daughter of the late Marinelle and Hunter Smith of Fairfax, AL (now Valley). I am saddened to hear about "Uncle" Frank's death - Jane called me while I was out of town to give me the news. The last time I saw both of you was at Roy's funeral in February, 1998. I will never forget the physical similarities between the two brothers, but it was their speech that made them sound exactly alike.
Please accept my condolences in your husband and father's death. He had an esteemed military career, and made a lasting contribution in both the corporate world and volunteerism in the communities where you lived. May God hold you close in these sad days.
Sincerely,
Julia Nelle Smith Alexander (Julie)

I feel honored to have known Mr. Burgess and enjoyed listening to his military stories while planning a tribute to WWII veterans here at Country Club of Roswell several years ago.
