Family-Placed Death Notice

Services for Lee Jefferson Robinson, 85, of Cayce, SC, will be held at 12 noon Thursday, March 25, 2004 in Cayce United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Samuel K. Harmon, with burial at Southland Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Seekers Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, SC. Memorials may be made to Cayce United Methodist Church. Mr. Robinson died Sunday, March 21, 2004. Born in Gaffney, SC, he was the son of the late James J. and Georgia Hawkins Robinson. He served as an Air Force Expediter during World War II at Bengal Air Depot, one of the largest Army/Air Force Depots outside the continental limits of the United States, serving the China, Burma, and India theatre. In 1946, he began his career in the office products industry with the R.L. Bryan Company in Columbia, SC. He started his own business as a manufacturers representative agency, Lee J. Robinson Associates in 1958, covering the eight southeastern states. He was active in the Southern Travelers Club, Inc., the oldest travelers club in America, serving as President, Reporting Secretary, and Historian. He was a member of the National Office Products Association, Summit Club of Columbia, and International Society of Poets. Additionally, he was a member of Office Products Representatives Association having served as Historian. Upon retirement in 1985, Mr. Robinson sold his business which is now known as LJR Associates, Atlanta. He is survived by his wife, Nan "Kelly" Sears Robinson of Cayce, SC; daughters and son-in-law, Carol Robinson of New York City, Holly and Rocky Smith of Columbia, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Shirley Robinson of Roswell, GA; grandchildren, Tiffany Fowler Krabbe, Michael Lee Robinson, Amber Kelly Robinson; and great-grandchild, Hailey Krabbe. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by two sisters and three borhters.
